IND VS ENG : England beat India by 28 runs on 4th day of the 1st test

IND VS ENG
IND VS ENG : In the final Test held at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, England achieved a thrilling victory over India with a margin of 28 runs, thanks to Ali Pope and Tom Hartley’s outstanding performances. Despite India initially holding a commanding lead of 190 runs, Pope’s remarkable innings of 196 revived England, helping them post a total of 420 in their second innings and turning the tide of the contest. This set the stage for the hosts, needing 231 to win, but Tom Hartley, making his debut in Test cricket, wreaked havoc with figures of 7-62. India crumbled and were all out for 202 in an extended final session on the penultimate day of the match.

Rohit Sharma’s 39 emerged as the highest score by an Indian batter in the second innings. Despite efforts from Ravichandran Ashwin (28) and Srikar Bharat (28), who added 57 runs for the eighth wicket, their resistance was not enough to prolong the match into its final day. The second match of the five-Test series is scheduled to begin in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
