The Chief Minister, Mr. A.Revanth Reddy, inaugurated the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) Phase II, spanning 70 km from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) to various parts of the city, providing a significant boost to metro rail services for commuters. The official announcement disclosed that the current metro network of HMR covers 69 kilometers in the Miyapur-LB Nagar, JBS station to MGBS, and Nagole to Raidurg corridors.

In the extended Phase II plan, the HMR services will connect the Secunderabad Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Imliban (MGBS) and stretch up to 5.5 km towards FALAKNUMA, and from FALAKNUMA to Chandrayangutta Crossroads for another 1.5 km. The authorities revealed these details on Monday. As part of the new corridors, the metro rail network is being expanded in four directions. Presently, the Nagole metro terminal is being extended up to LB Nagar. The network from Nagole to LB Nagar and from Chandrayangutta Crossroads to the FALAKNUMA area is being covered, totaling 29 km.

Key highlights of the new corridors are as follows:
Corridor 1: Connectivity from Secunderabad Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to MGBS (5.5 km) and from FALAKNUMA to Chandrayangutta Crossroads (1.5 km).
Corridor 2: Extension from MGBS Metro Station to FALAKNUMA.
Corridor 4: Connectivity from Nagole Metro Station to LB Nagar, covering Chandrayangutta Crossroads, Mallepally, P7 Road, and Shamsabad Airport (29 km).
Corridor 5: Extension from Raidurg Metro Station to Bio-Diversity Junction, Nanakramguda Junction, Vipro Junction, and the US Consulate (Financial District) for a distance of 8 km.
Corridor 6: Connectivity from Miyapur Metro Station to Patancheru (BHEL) covering 14 km.
Corridor 7: Extension from LB Nagar Metro Station to Vanasthalipuram and Hayathnagar (8 km).
